ladies and gentlemen, my brother.
I think that if we are looking for motivation, we only have to look to society.
Society is the greatest form of motivation.
We can have personal motivation, which is quite necessary. But in order to cope with laziness or procrastination*, defined by the human tendency to do whatever the fuck s/he wants or feels like, one has to play by the rules of society.
Society, along with history and science, predicts today’s patterns and trends, and kindly proves to us that there is never enough time to finish everything we have to get done.
Society lets us know what kind of behavior or achievement is obsolete and unoriginal, and reacts soon enough to truly groundbreaking ideas or achievement.
And most importantly, society provides us with role models, our most valuable friends and co-workers, and reasons worthwhile to never regret the pain and effort we put in to pursue our lifelong dreams.
So how do we get motivated by society?
Adopt society into our personal lives, I suppose?
After all, society is where all the live competition happens.
